In the dark between battles, a sea star made of spring leaves opens wide. Its name is Acanthaster. Long lime fronds curl out in every direction from its slender body, each one striped in teal and edged with dark veins. A sleek silver core runs down the middle, ending in a small red sensor at the nose and a bright white thruster at the tail.
Acanthaster is a Healer of the Cosmic Collective, and its strongest stat by far is heal. In battle it hangs back, leaves wide open, and catches starlight in every frond.
The soul inside was a botanist who grew medicine in a greenhouse on a frozen moon. When the greenhouse failed, she chose to Uplevel rather than let her work die. Now she is the greenhouse.
Its signature power is the Bloom Pulse. Acanthaster gathers light in its fronds, then releases it in a soft green wave. Damaged hulls seal. Shields flicker back to life. Tired souls inside their ships feel calm again. It is not built to fight, and it does not need to. Every fighter near it simply refuses to fall.
