Service record
It looks like a ship frozen in the middle of exploding. Shard Storm has a dark scaled body, and around it float jagged blades of emerald and white. The shards hover at every angle, linked by tiny crackling sparks. They never touch the hull. They never drift away. Fine engraved swirls cover its armor like fingerprints, and the red sky glows hot behind it.
When Shard Storm attacks, the blades move. They spin out like a flock of glass birds and slice through anything in their path, then snap back into orbit. Its special attack is among the strongest in the fleet, and it is fast enough to strike twice before a target turns.
The soul inside was a glass artist named Oren, who believed broken things could be made beautiful. When a test ship blew apart with him aboard, The Directory caught every piece and every thought. It put him back together, but not all the way. He liked it that way. He joined the Cosmic Collective and has flown in pieces ever since.
