Wrapped in a cage of jagged blue lightning, Volt Tide surfaces from the dark like a whale rising through a storm. Its long hull is layered in navy and sky blue plating, with a pale stripe across its middle and sleek fins tucked beneath. Red lights glint at its nose, and arcs of electricity leap from its skin in every direction.
Volt Tide flies with the Cyborons. It was once a cargo hauler with a simple computer brain. Then a lightning storm on a gas giant woke that brain up, and it never went back to sleep.
A soul joined it later. She was an electrical engineer who had spent her life studying storms. She Upleveled into Volt Tide on purpose, because no other ship understood lightning the way it did.
Its strongest stat is special attack, and its signature is the Surge Breach. Volt Tide soaks up energy from enemy shots into its plating, then releases it all at once in a blinding wave of lightning. The more you shoot it, the harder it hits back. Smart enemies stop firing. Most are not that smart.
