Long and slate grey, Far Lantern wears a hull mottled in shades of moss and storm. Swept fins angle back from its tail, and a burst of white light pushes it forward. Beneath its belly hang two glowing cyan engine pods that light up the darkness around it, and a small red mark glints near its nose.
Far Lantern is an Explorer for the Cosmic Collective. It goes into the dark places: dead nebulas, shadow zones and the black between galaxies where even starlight gives up. Its cyan pods are the only light for millions of miles.
The soul inside was a cave guide who led tourists through underground rivers. He loved the moment when his lamp revealed something nobody had ever seen. When he Upleveled, he chose to keep doing that, only bigger.
Its strongest stats are special attack, heal and steady health. Its signature is the Lantern Flare. The cyan pods flash bright enough to blind enemies and reveal anything hiding in the dark. The same light gently restores friendly ships nearby. Far Lantern does not hunt monsters. It just makes sure nobody gets lost.
