Service record
Broad and bright, Citrus Shield floats like a lime saucer layered with teal and pale yellow. Its edges slope into a wide armored skirt, like a cake stand turned upside down. A row of thin antennas and a small domed light sit on its top deck, a pink brain peeks out near the nose, and a cool white beam glows from the front. A round porthole near its base glows softly.
Citrus Shield protects The Capital's floating markets, where thousands of people shop and trade on platforms in the sky. Its defense is high, and the wide skirt can tilt to cover a whole street. When trouble comes, the white beam sweeps out like a searchlight and then hardens into a blast that sends attackers tumbling.
The soul inside was a lifeguard at a busy beach. He watched over swimmers every day for twenty years and never lost one. When The Capital asked him to watch over its markets, he Upleveled with a grin. He still whistles at troublemakers. Now the whistle shakes buildings.
