Picture a lantern that learned to fly. Two cream colored frames fold around a round central pod like wings around a heart, their triangle panels bright against the purple dark. Inside the pod glows a pink core, ridged and alive. From it stream two lances of energy, one hot red and one electric blue, crossing the void before a target can blink.
The soul inside Mind Lancer was a chess champion from a mining colony. She never won a match by rushing. When the Cosmic Collective offered her the chance to Uplevel, she asked one question: would she still get to think? Now she does nothing else. Her thoughts run the engines, and every beam is a move planned three turns ahead.
Its signature weapon is the Crosslance, a twin beam strike powered by its huge special attack. The red beam pins. The blue beam finishes. Bigger ships rarely see the second one coming.
